With the RightEye eye-tracking technology, we can help identify issues that could be impacting a patient’s daily life.

RightEye® – Infrared Eye Tracking Assessment for Concussions

Consussion Eye Test

In order to successfully test, diagnose, treat and manage traumatic brain injury (TBI) and concussion symptoms following impact head injuries, accidents, or collisions, MAC Alliance incorporates multiple technologies to analyze the severity of the head injury and concussion. One such tool is the RightEye oculomotor treatment program. This technology is eye-tracking based and used for concussion testing, diagnosis, and treatment following a brain injury.

Vision issues are a common problem our patients experience after concussions. The RightEye tool is a fast and easy computerized test that links eye movement function to brain performance, helping us objectively monitor recovery of neurological injuries like concussions. RightEye is not a traditional vision test; instead, it is an eye-tracking technology developed for medicine and sports that accurately measures reaction time, helping to identify any dysfunction that could be impacting daily life.

This innovative tracking system essentially replicates a manual ocular motility “follow my finger” test, but is precise and objective. This concussion testing tool provides quantitative, measurable information that can help us address patient symptoms, track recovery, identify improvements, and aid in recovery after traumatic brain injury or concussion.

Informed Recommendations

Mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBI), generally referred to as concussions, can greatly impact health. Even a minor concussion can cause functional vision problems and balance issues. Involuntary eye movements, not normally apparent to the naked eye, can indicate health concerns.

Signs of functional visual problems can include:

  • Headaches
  • Balance issues
  • Problems with reading comprehension or difficulty concentrating
  • Short attention span

We use RightEye’s latest updated version, and we can quickly study this eye-movement (oculomotor) behavior and utilize over 85 billion data points to compare test results for acute and granular feedback. This is 19 times the original amount of data available just a few years ago, which lets us make informed recommendations to help alleviate post-concussion symptoms.

Benefits From Using RightEye

The RightEye tool is useful for athletes, non-athletes, and any other individual with a concussion. Benefits include:

  • Fast and objective eye-tracking screening
  • Diagnostic marker of traumatic brain injury
  • Simple, quick, and accurate way of determining levels of severity of TBI
  • Non-invasive screening
  • Clear picture of tracking following concussion or TBI
  • Can help strengthen sports performance by analyzing eye movement, brain processing, and reaction time
  • For athletes, non-athletes, and other individuals with concussion or TBI

MAC Alliance RightEye Testing
